Hello, Dear Friends!
In recent weeks I’ve traveled back to my beloved Albuquerque where I caught up with wonderful friends, cuddled with sweet Princess Betty of Hollywood,
and her feline brother, Simon, the Keeper of Many Secrets.
I ate some great food and drank some really good adult beverages. I absorbed the spectacular light that is so unique to New Mexico and took in as much as I could of the amazing random art that is scattered around the city. I got my “driving in Albuquerque” chops back. (Note: not for the faint of heart.)
I sorted through my belongings still in storage there — books and clothing and kitchen wares — and sold a bed and boxsprings, a bookshelf, and an antique phone stand. I spent many dollars shipping back books and manuscripts and journals, all necessary for this current memoir revision. I slid down the storage door on the rest. “Later,” I said. “I’ve done what I can for now.”
Then I said farewell to Albuquerque again, returning home to these beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The birds are happy, the sun is shining, and spring is in the air. Glad to be back with family and friends.
Chapter Twenty of Dead Ringer drops tomorrow! We’ll pick up where we left off, with Weston Roper about to tell Blainey “everything.”
And…I probably don’t say it often enough, but thank you all so much for being part of this MM&M community. Y’all keep me going, for sure!
(Link to Chapter Nineteen in case you need to refresh your memory!)
Very appreciative of the lush landscape and the springtime in the Shenandoah Valley after 30 year in WY and CO! And, sidebar, grew up in Bexley! I really enjoy your writing and stories. Many thanks.
Welcome home!
