Where I'm From. Next Week on Instagram Live!

Hey, You Lovely People —

I mentioned in a prior newsletter post that I’d be joining Alyson Shelton on her Instagram Live series, “Where I’m From.” Alyson invites fellow poets and writers to come on Instagram Live with her and read the poems they’ve created from a prompt that reads a little like a “Mad Libs for Writers.”

Well, we have a date and time — next Thursday, December 22nd at noon EST, 11am Central, 10am Mountain and 9am Pacific time. I’ll be reading my “Where I’m From” poem, and then we’ll spend some time in Q&A and conversation. Hope you can join us, but if not, I believe the episode will be recorded, and if so, I’ll be sure to send a link.

Alyson always asks her guest for a short bio and a photo as a child. I believe the above picture is from 2nd or 3rd grade, and that would have been during the couple of years we lived in Overland Park, Kansas.

Just for fun, below is my 1st grade picture from the year we lived in Lake Forest, Illinois. Let me know if you spot me.
